I can't understand why NZ First went with Labour last election when most backers prefer National, that really irked me. Still, Winston for Prime Minister, we do need change.

I was trying to think where I had heard the kind of commentary and reporting that is coming over our radio and TV of late, and then it came to me, it was off the coast of North Korea in 1951-52, we used to pipe the English speaking Chinese radio news reports around the ship for entertainent, all these so called reporters and presenters need is a little blue or yellow book to wave and quote from. I would not be surprised to see them with them on Agenda on Sunday. I will be saving my TV viewing for Willie Jackson on EYE to Eye.

The speech by Winston Peters, highlighted what every thinking NewZealander understands about the aim of the media. They, the media is deciding for us, the public, what government we should have by reporting only their views and slanting their reporting to emphasise their viewpoint!!!!!!The media is denying the NewZealand public their right to be informed, to analyse,to decide their destiny by not carrying out their job of reporting the news fairly and factually.

It seems half the news today is about how the public opinion on the coverage of the item. Many occassions this is presented as an item of serious topic - even a major headline! Why I mention this is that it is symptomatic of a dangerous sort of vanity. A dangerous self centred hyper real image amplified in its own eyes. I turned on my computer this morning and yahoo/xtra news carried this speech as a story. They saw the only thing worthy of publishing was "Winston admits he made a mistake". This speech deserved more than that - but speech in any media is not 'free' is it. Someone pays for that service ... and that someone is riding on a sea not making waves. Dangerous vanity - sichophantic, paralysed, tired old men who have been promoted to their levels of incompetence daring to toy with playing god. I propose its time for them to discard their mirrors, stop preening their hair and powedering their noses. If I want entertainment without thinking I will turn on the wwf. If I want political commentary critical to the fair sustainment of our democracy, I am not going to listen to these desperately depressed television evangelists whos bones creek, and words seem to roll into one moan after another. that tired old presenter whom was refered to in the speech ... what grates me is he seems cleverer than his statements... indeed he was talking down to his audience ... using simple words, simple imagery. "winston didnt sell it..." Winston had to sell it" and the worst one ... was the accusation that 'winston' was hiding in the detail ... he knew he was calling him a snake in the grass...but he talked down to us. He also had that response prepared before the broadcast even started ... because they cut the broadcast before there was any real substance discuss. Pathetic commentary ... pathetic and base tactic from someone who is clever. Clever...thats the point ... clever and bitter ... kubla khan in a little fishbowl - scaring all the guppies. This is that journalist - and hes clever enough to know that what i have just called him is the worst thing that any intelligent being can be refered to as. He might understand that like many in the media today ... they lack that fundimental attribute that modern man refers to as "authenticity". A cadra of priests preaching what they know to be "bad faith". Go Winston ... who ever remembered the timid and the cowering ... and who says that there is any truck in keeping silent. Leaders dont hide in their laurel bushes throwing stones. Leaders put their lives on the line and od the hard yards. Good for you Winston ... Honourable Winston Peters. the only thing people are sick of is hearing the media spout bile about you, not necessarilly what you actually do. I think this is what they are really trying to do this time, sir ... what they are trying to do is banalise your image and render you boring. time to Pitbull that media ... how do you manage a group of bullies ... you beat the living crud out of them one at a time. You put them down so hard they dont get up... lets face it ...they are cowards like all bullies are cowards.

Stay interesting ... dont turn the other cheek! I dont want to hear them talking about the public opinion of them talking about you - I want to hear them talking about 'you'.
