I just finished watching the interview on the maori channel and was impressed with winston's statements. I suspect alot of maori will be behind the maori party on election day but any intelligent kiwi with a bit of common sense can see that National and Act don't want anything to do with the maori party under MMP, because winston believes National ultimately want to govern alone.
I believe the maori party will fail to achieve anything fundamentally for maori. If the truth be known i think the Greens probably did more for maori than anyone by introducing the Clean Slate bill.
All this crap about peter sharples and the like blaming social issues that plague maori people today on colonisation is pathetic.
Real self-determination can only be achieved for maori by first bringing one's thinking into the 21st century and then working hard to earn the kind of living that would naturally advance many other worthy attributes such as respect, honour, self-reliance, financial independance, and education.
Mr Peters i know you have some uncompromising principles and we all know you always show up on every interview well prepared to do battle but i think that maori interviewer did raise a good point about your attitude toward the media. I am well aware that the media have not been playing fair for years with respect to your person but i feel as a loyal supporter of you that it wouldnt be a sign of weakness on your part to accomodate the media on occasion, if anything it would probably demonstrate your humility and a hint of vunerableness that is rare in your business but nevertheless in my opinion it is what makes us human, even for a political journeyman like yourself.
Winston says <em>"Thanks for the thoughtful advice Chris."</em>

The real queston the voters should be asking was John Key working for Merrill Lynch when they fired two senior executives for their failure to supervise currency dealers who diverted profits on foreign exchange deals to favoured clients, leaving the bank facing millions of dollars in bills The years in question were late 1990's to 2001. Merrill Lynch's NZ operations should be thoroughly investigated in that a former Merrill Lynch currency trader is destined to become our PM - can he be trusted ? Perhaps Winston should mention this in the up-coming parliamentary debate.

The explanation most probably is, that they did not want all of Winstons evidence to be heard by the public?

It is true that we all deserve a fair hearing so why then do we let the media run rampant over us all in this way. Trial by media I have heard it called. They must not be allowed to judge or control the election processes by a devious set of suggestions about who will win and why, and what will happen to the NZ 1st party. This is media control and I abhor it. Their job is to report accurately not to conjecture or worse.

Seann
The explanation is quite plain to see, since the start of this farce we have had to watch a bunch of mediocre and failed "journalists"?
trying to help Rodney Hide destroy New Zealand First, to accomplish their ends they will use every trick in the book: you don't have to be too bright to see why the feed was cut both to the net and TV3, Winston Peters looked like he was going to prove Owen Glenn is not truthful, he needen't have bothered, Glenn was making a pretty good job of that all by himself, once he left the protection of his coaching lawyers, he just can't keep his mouth shut. TV3's front man was a reject from TV1 who's found himself on the wrong side of a court case with Mr Peters.
If you pay particular attention to the media's stance from now on you will notice that little by little their stories will start to change, note they are now calling Owen Glenn the "businessman" where they were calling him "the expat billiononaire" you see he isn't a billionaire. Where they were crowing "this is the end of New Zealand First and Winston Peters!" they are starting to give their "expert" opinion on who New Zealand First is going to form a coalition with after the election. I even heard what we deluded old fuddy duddies are going to do when the party folds, it appears according to Agenda we ae going back to our roots with National. I could point out here that an "ex" is a "has been" and a "spert" is a "drip under pressure". You seee Sean all this has happened before, they are just slow leaners, they havn't worked out that we can think for ourselves and the sooner they get to reporting the real news, the sooner we will take notice of them.
