… something for our Auckland constituents to think about……

As you are aware the Royal Commission on Auckland Governance is due to report in the next few months.

There have been strong efforts by the Auckland City Council and others to create a single super-city to govern the Auckland region, scrapping seven territorial authorities in the process. It would be the biggest piece of local government in New Zealand or Australia. A supersized Auckland would have 1.4 million and growing fast. According to reports the super council would have twenty community councils under its thumb.

… Some questions for today……

Are you as sick and tired as we are will the unrelenting attacks on New Zealand First? Are you sick and tired of the half truths the foreign owned media spin – all targeting one party and one party leader?

Have you ever wondered why they are doing this?

… Why are our opponents so scared? ……

We knew it would happen. As soon as NZ First began making strong headway this election, we knew our opponents would start with the dirty tricks campaign again. And so it proved to be.

NZ First came out on top of the Leaders debate on Monday night and immediately our opponents have tried to shut our momentum down by dredging up the Owen Glenn story again. It is as predictable as it is boring.

… Debate too tame, but it touched on important issues……

Last night’s debate on TV1 was too tame. Politics should be fun and interesting. It livened up a little towards the end, but the formula was just too rigid to get any real spontaneous debate.

However, it was important that the serious financial crisis facing New Zealand got a good airing. Many New Zealanders have lost the value of their homes and their businesses are struggling. NZ First has outlined what it would do to protect and save peoples livelihoods and homes.
